Daniel Fenton, Executive Vice President for JLL Hotel & Hospitality Group, was formerly the Chief Executive Officer and President of Team San Jose, previously known as the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau. In his 15 years at Team San Jose, Daniel Fenton oversaw the city’s convention center and four downtown theaters, while growing the company to more than 300 employees and $20 million in value. At the same time, he created a Hotel Business Improvement District in San Jose and served as Chairman of the Board for Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI).
Dan Fenton’s extensive background in the hospitality industry began in childhood, when he watched his parents run their inn in Carmel, California, and at times he helped behind the front desk. He went on to study Hotel/Motel Management at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, receiving a Bachelor’s degree with distinction. In 1981, Daniel Fenton went to work at AMFAC Hotels & Resorts, where he worked his way up from Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to General Manager at the hotel’s San Francisco location. In 1997, he became President of the DNF Group, Inc., where he owned and operated a 6,000-square-foot entertainment facility with two food and beverage operations. He then went on to the Radisson Plaza Hotel, becoming Vice President of Operations for six years.
A co-founder of Artsopolis, the ZeroOne Biennial Festival, and Taxi San Jose, Daniel Fenton is a member of the Mexican Heritage Corporation, the Mariachi Festival, the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society, the California Society of Association Executives, the American Society of Association Executives, and the Professional Convention Management Association. While working at AMFAC, Mr. Fenton was named Supervisor of the Year at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas.
